ASUS X50Z RAM Upgrade
This laptop comes with 2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, but can be easily upgraded. It supports up to 4Gb RAM , which can be mounted in 2 SODIMM slots. As you can see the process is simple.
1. Before you do anything make sure to turn off the laptop, unplug the AC power adapter and remove the battery.
2. Turn the computer over and remove the plastic cover attached to the chassis with 5 small screws. Now you can see the memory slots.
3. If there is no empty slot, you have to remove one or both modules in order to free a slot. It’s easy. Carefully spread the clips that fix the memory stick and it will pop up at approximately 45 degree angle. Now remove the memory module from the slot.
4. Insert the new RAM in the slot and carefully press it down until the clips are locked.
5.Replace the plastic cover and tighten the screws.
Now you can check whether the new RAM is detected by your system with right click on My computer , then select properties from the menu.
