Here is how you can upgrade the RAM  in LG GS50. The exact model of laptop that will be upgraded here is LG GS50 – 55H1, but I think that this guide can also be used for other GS50 models. This is an old model of LG that came with 256 MB DDR 333MHz memory and here I will try to add another 512 MB RAM. According to the official manual, GS50 can handle up to 2GB RAM. In this model both slots can be found on the bottom of the laptop.

1.Turn off the laptop, unplug the AC power adapter and remove the battery.

2. Remove two screws securing the metal cover to the chassis.

3. If there is no empty slot, you have to remove one of the modules by carefully spreading the latches on both sides of the memory slot. It will pop up at approximately 45 degree angle.

4. Insert the new RAM in the slot and carefully press it down until the latches are locked.

5. Put the metal cover back to its place and tighten the screws.
