Lenovo 3000 N200 RAM Upgrade
Here I will try to explain how to upgrade or replace the RAM memory of Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop. The exact model is LENOVO 3000 N200 0769AN7 A50 . It came with 2 GB ( DDR2 667MHz PC2 5300 200 pin ) single RAM stick installed. According to the official manual this laptop has two SODIMM slots supporting up to 4GB of RAM. Both slots are located on the underside of the laptop and can be easily reached by removing the plastic cover shown on the picture below.
Important : Before do anything be sure to turn off the laptop, unplug the AC power adapter and remove the battery.
1. Remove the screw securing the plastic cover to the chassis and gently lift it up.
2. Insert the new RAM in the slot and carefully press it down until the clips are locked.
3. If there is no empty slot, you have to remove one of the modules by carefully spreading the metal clips on both sides of the memory slot. It will pop up at approximately 30 degree angle.
4. Put the plastic cover back to its place and tighten the screw.
5. Now if your laptop boots up normally you can check whether the new RAM is detected by your system with right click on My computer , then select properties from the menu.
