How to clean the cooling fan and heatsink in Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo V5535
In this post I will try to show you how to clean the cooling fan and the heatsink in your Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo V5535 laptop. Dont worry, it’s easy. You should simply follow the steps described below. But first let’s see how to know when these parts need to be cleaned.
Here are the main indicators showing problems with the cooling system:
1. Laptop produce more heat than usual, which is also reason for it to work slowly.
2. The laptop fan runs louder than before and works most of the time.
If that is your case, then most likely the heatsink is clogged with dust as you can see on the picture below and you will have to disassemble the laptop and remove the dust.
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the following procedures, turn off the laptop , unplug the power adapter and remove the battery. Note that computer parts are very sensitive to static electricity so ground yourself before touching anything inside you computer by using grounding strap or touch a metal faucet pipe.
1. Turn over the laptop and remove the plastic cover secured by four screws as it is shown on the picture.
2. Remove the two screws securing the fan.
3. Now you can clean the fan and heatsink with compressed air. It’s not a good idea to use vacuum cleaner because sometimes they produce static electricity.
