New phone software from Microsoft

Today Microsoft Corp. anounced a new software designed for mobile phones, that will be used by phone makers and phone companies such as Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, AT&T and Vodaphone Plc. The company expects partners to deliver more than 30 new phones in more than 20 countries by the end of 2009. With the new Windows phone, people can navigate their phone easily,play music, open Word and Excel documents and browse the Internet on a great mobile browser. They can also connect to two new services that allow them to back up and share data from their phone to the Web and buy a variety of useful applications from the Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
For those who want to personalize their phones, Microsoft now offers special application called Windows phone Custom Theme Creator for creating personalized themes for their Windows phone by choosing the color and design that suits their style. It can be found here.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said : “A Windows phone lets people take their entire world of digital information, communications, applications and entertainment with them wherever they go.”
With the new software Microsoft will be ready to challenge other phone makers for market share. Perhaps the company’s main objective will be to compete with Apple, which has achieved great success with its iPhone.
