LCD and Keyboard replacement in Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo V5535
In this post I will try to explain how to remove and replace the display and keyboard in Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo V5535 laptop. I think this guide might also work for some other Esprimo models. In order to replace the LCD screen in these models first you will have to remove the keyboard. The whole procedure is simple but there are some important rules that you have to follow.
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the following procedures, turn off the laptop , unplug the power adapter and remove the battery. Note that computer parts are very sensitive to static electricity so ground yourself before touching anything inside you computer by using grounding strap or touch a metal faucet pipe.
Using a small flat screwdriver carefully remove the keyboard bezel which also covers the display hinges.
Now you have to remove the keyboard. In this model the keyboard isn’t fixed with any screws so it can be removed easy. Carefully lift up the keyboard and turn it upside down so you can access the ribbon cable connector underneath. In order to release the cable you have to unlock the connector. Be careful with the ribbon cable because it could be damaged very easy and when this happen you will need a new keyboard.
To unlock the connector carefully lift up its black part and pull the ribbon cable.
On the picture below you can see the connector in unlocked position.
Turn the laptop upside down and remove the screws marked on the picture below.
Disconnect the video cable from the motherboard and two Wi-Fi antenna cables from the wireless card.
Pull the cables through the openings.
Remove four screws fixing the display hinges.
Remove another four screws (two on each side of the laptop) marked below.
Now you can separate the display panel from the laptop.
