Here I will try to explain how to remove and replace the WLAN card in DELL Inspiron 1501 laptop. This model came with Dell 1390 802.11b/g card installed on Mini PCI-Express slot, but you can test with cards from other manufacturers. In order to replace the card you will need to remove the keyboard. You can do this using this guide.

CAUTION: Before you begin any of the following procedures, turn off the laptop , unplug the power adapter and remove the battery. Note that computer parts are very sensitive to static electricity so ground yourself before touching anything inside you computer by using grounding strap or touch a metal faucetĀ  pipe.

After keyboard is removed disconnect two Wi-Fi antenna cables from the wireless card and press the latches towards LCD display.
