How to remove the display panel in Compaq Evo n1020
As I mentioned in a previous post, today I will try to explain how to remove the display of your Compaq Evo 1020 laptop. You can use this short guide in case you need to replace the display panel with a new one (for example, if it is damaged). OK, let’s start.
1. The first you need to do is to remove the led cover and the keyboard. Here is a guide describing this operation.
Remove the screw that secures the display video ground cable to the heat sink and disconnect the display video cable from the motherboard.
2. Remove the display video cable from the routing channels in the heat spreader and the chassis.
3. Remove the screw that secures the display inverter ground cable to the heat spreader and disconnect the display inverter cable from the motherboard.
4.Remove the four screws that secure the display hinges to the chassis.
5.Remove the display from the chassis.
