Today I will show you how to disassemble and clean your MacBook White laptop. You can also use this guide if you want to replace the RAM memory or hard drive  or just to perform an upgrade. In this model the cooling fan is located in the center of the laptop under the keyboard, so you’ll  need to unmount it first in order to reach the fan. But before you start, it is important to see the screws used in this computer and select the appropriate screwdriver. According to Apple you can use a Phillips size 00 screwdriver.
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the following procedures, turn off the laptop , unplug the power adapter and remove the battery. Note that computer parts are very sensitive to static electricity so ground yourself before touching anything inside you computer by using grounding strap or touch a metal faucet  pipe.
1. Turn the computer over.

2. Using a coin, turn the battery latch clockwise in order to release the battery. It should pop up slightly.

3. Remove the three screws that secure the L-bracket that covers the memory slots and hard drive.

4. Remove the L-bracket from the battery bay by pulling out the long end first. You should see the levers on the memory slot.

5. As you can see there are two memory slots. If you need to remove a memory module, carefully move the lever to the left and release it. Then pull out the memory module.

7. Before installing the new memory be sure to return the levers to closed position.

8. Insert the new memory modules into the slots with the notch on the left side. You may need to use a firm press in order to ensure that the memory is installed properly.

9. Replace the L-bracket by inserting the short end first and tightening the screws.

10. Let us now return to the disassembly procedure. Remove the following screws.

11.  Remove the two screws from either side of the computer.

12.  Remove the following 3 screws from the underside and 4 screws from the back of the computer.

13. Now you can remove the keyboard, but still do not completely separate it from the body of the computer. There is a ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard so do not pull up very strongly. Otherwise you may damage the cable or its connector. Carefully separate the keyboard from the body starting near the display and then proceed to the central part.

While holding up the keyboard, gently pull up the black tab of the silver cable in order to disconnect it from the motherboard. Also make sure that you pull straight up.

14.  Disconnect the optical drive ribbon cable and then the fan cable from the motherboard.

15. Now remove the three screws securing the cooling fan to the chassis. You may need to move the display and speaker cables to the right in order to access one of the screws.

As you can see the heatsink is completely clogged with dust and needs to be cleaned.
