The following guide explains how to upgrade the ram memory in TCL K43 series laptop. You can also use it if you need to replace a damaged keyboard. This machine comes with 2 X 512 MB PC2-5300 modules installed in two memory slots. One of them is located on the button and another one under the keyboard. OK, let’s start.

CAUTION: Before you begin any of the following procedures, turn off the laptop , unplug the power adapter and remove the battery. Note that computer parts are very sensitive to static electricity so ground yourself before touching anything inside you computer by using grounding strap or touch a metal faucetĀ  pipe.

1.Remove 9 screws securing the bottom cover.

2.Carefully spread latches on both sides of the memory slot.

3.After the memory module pops up (at approximately 45 degree angle), carefully remove it from the slot.

4. In order to access the internal memory slot you will need to remove the keyboard. It is secured by 6 small latches.

In order to unlock them, simply press on each one of them with a small flat-head screwdriver or another sharp object.

It will be easier if you pull the keyboard upwards at the same time.

5. Carefully unlock the keyboard cable connector by moving the brown part about 2 millimeters into direction shown by two arrows. Remove the cable.

6. Remove two screws from the internal memory slot cover and remove the cover.

7. You can remove memory module from the internal slot the same way as it was removed from the external slot.
