How to clean Fujitsu-Siemens lifebook C1110
Today I will try to explain how to clean the cooling fan and heatsink in Fujitsu-Siemens C1110 series laptop. You can also use this guide if you need to replace a damaged keyboard or change the thermal grease of the CPU. In this model the cooling module is located under the keyboard, but first you will have to remove several other components. Let’s see.
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the following procedures, turn off the laptop , unplug the power adapter and remove the battery. Note that computer parts are very sensitive to static electricity so ground yourself before touching anything inside you computer by using grounding strap or touch a metal faucetĀ pipe.
1.Remove the following screws securing the keyboard bezel and palmrest.
2.Release and remove the optical drive by pulling the lever as shown in the picture below.
3.As you can see there are two remaining screws in the cd drive bay, which must also be removed.
4.Using small flathead screwdriver carefully lift up the keyboard bezel.

5.There are plastic latches on both sides of the keyboard bezel covering the keyboard. Continue releasing plastic latches and removing the keyboard bezel .
6.It would be easier if you open display panel at a 180 degree angle.
7.Carefully slide the keyboard about 1-2 cm towards the display.
8.Lift up the keyboard so that you have access to the cable connector underneath.
9.Carefully unlock the connector by lifting its black part, about 2-3 mm upwards. Both the keyboard and connector can be easily damaged, so you have to be very careful.
10.Remove two black tapes and screw securing the fan cover. Remove the cover.
11.Now you have to remove the palmrest in order to access all 4 screws securing the heatsink. You don’t need to remove any screws since they were removed earlier.
12.Disconnect the fan cable and remove 4 screws securing heatsink. It can be cleaned with compressed air.
You can also use the opportunity to replace the CPU thermal grease.
