How to clean Lenovo G570 heatsink
Today I’ll show you how to disassemble and clean the cooling fan and heat sink in Lenovo G570 series laptop. You will also learn how to remove the heat sink and change the CPU thermal paste. The process is simple and takes about 15 minutes because the manufacturer has provided easy access to the cooling module. For this purpose it is enough to remove the plastic cover on the underside of the laptop. Let’s see.
1. First of all, shut down the computer, remove the battery and disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
2. Turn the laptop upside down and remove five screws securing the bottom plastic cover to the laptop body.
3. Disconnect fan cable from the system board and remove tree screws securing the cooling fan.
4. Now you can remove the cooling fan and clean the heatsink in case it is clogged with dust. If you wish, you can use the opportunity to apply new thermal grease on the CPU but first you will need to remove the heat sink.
5. Remove four screws securing heat sink to the system board.
6. To remove the heat sink carefully the part lying on the CPU and then pull it out of the body of the laptop at an angle of approximately 45 degrees.
7. Before putting new thermal paste, clean both (the CPU and cooler) surfaces well using a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol or some other alcohol-based solvent.
